They occur when the skin produces excess sebum and combines with dirt, grime or dead skin cells. Blackheads clog the pores and make your skin look dull and dirty. One of the easiest ways to treat them is a facial at the parlor. But when you are running late then or have no time to hit the parlor, you can prevent and slough them off your face with the help of these easy home remedies. Check the 5 ways to treat blackheads:
1. Honey:
Gooey honey easily clears your skin from blackheads and makes the skin super soft. It has antibacterial properties that will keep acne at bay as well as hydrates and tightens the skin pores.
DIY:
Apply 1 tablespoon of honey all over your face and leave it for 10 minutes. Then pat your face wet and gently rub your face in circular motion, rinse with warm water. You will notice softer skin and considerable reduction of blackheads. Do this daily and notice clearer and baby soft skin.
2. Oatmeal:
This healthy breakfast does wonders to the skin and if have oily skin, then use oatmeal as a face scrub, face pack and keep oil and acne at bay. Oatmeal has exfoliating properties that will remove dead skin cells, grime, dirt and prevent blackheads.
DIY:
Mix 1 tablespoon of oatmeal, 1 tablespoon of yogurt, 1 tablespoon of honey. Smear the paste all over your face, especially on your nose, chin area and leave it to dry. Cleanse with cool water and repeat this every day or alternate days for faster results.
3. Fenugreek seeds:
This is the holy grail for your skin. It draws out toxins, exfoliates the skin and brightens the complexion. It is infused with nutrients and vitamins that boost the skin and prevents blackheads and acne.
DIY:
Take a handful of fenugreek seeds and let it soak in water overnight. Then blend it in a blender, forming a thick paste. Then apply the paste on your face and neck. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash with cool water. Your skin will show stunning results-blackheads will vanish off. Do this weekly thrice for good results.
4. Tomato juice:
This is mostly used as a toner for even skin, but it even can be used to clean your skin from blackheads. Tomato juice can unclog the pores and reduce excess sebum.
DIY:
Extract the juice out of the tomato and apply it on your clean face every morning. Leave it for 10 minutes and wash with cool water. You can repeat this before your bedtime and leave it overnight.
5. Lemon juice with cinnamon powder:
Lemon juice and cinnamon powder will make a deadly combination to slough off the blackheads from your face. Lemon juice has antibacterial properties as well as help in reducing excess oil from the face, whereas cinnamon powder fights against cleaning the skin deeply.
DIY:
Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Apply the mixture on the blackhead area and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Clean with cool water. You will notice a good change after applying this mixture 2-3 times.
Do and dont’s:
1. Get a salicylic acid based face wash, it will control sebum production.
2. Don’t prick or squeeze blackheads which will only increase them more.
3. Stay away from oil based makeup products.
4. Use enzyme based masks, peels that will fight against blackheads.
5. Always moisturize your face.
6. Never sleep with makeup on.
