We all need the healthy, glowing skin and thanks to the foundation that does the perfect job of covering up the flaws and radiating our skin in the best possible way. There are a dozen of foundations in the market and after trying the Lakme Absolute mousse, I decided to give a shot to this baby, which had launched last year in India.
This is the Maybelline Fit Me +Poreless foundation specially designed for the normal to oily skin. This post is long overdue, but I decided to pen my thoughts on whether this product is worth raving or not.
Foundation shades-
- 115 Ivory : This one is perfect for fair and pale skin tone
- 128 Warm Nude : This is another shade for fair skin tone, but it has a yellow undertone
- 230 Natural Buff : This is for fair to medium skin tone
- 310 Sun Beige : Similar to natural buff, but it has deeper undertone
- 322 Warm Honey : This shade is for dusky beauties
- 330 Toffee Caramel : This shade is perfect for duskier skin tones, it has warmer undertone
My Review
Packaging:
The Fit Me foundation comes in a transparent glass bottle with a black screw lid. It has the most unmanageable packaging where the chances of spillage and wastage of product is more. I don’t really fancy the packaging and I wish they had launched the pump dispenser packaging, which dispenses the exact amount of foundation.
Shade:
Unfortunately, the Fit Me foundation was launched only in 6 shades whereas in the West there were whopping 18 shades! However, I am NC40 and as I travel a lot and get tanned, I decided to buy the 310 Sun Beige, however, I feel 230 would have done a fair justice to my skin tone.
Texture:
The foundation has a runny texture which is easy to blend. The runny consistency makes it easy to work on with it. The foundation is lightweight, smooth and easily glides up the skin. I always use a primer and then go for my foundation, else my pores would be visible. I use my Beauty Blender and I should tell you girls, the foundation blends into my skin like a dream.
Coverage:
I do have slight pigmentation, marks and I did notice that the foundation didn’t do a great job in concealing all my flaws (acne marks). It does give a sheer to minimum coverage which is perfect for everyday use. But if you are expecting maximum coverage from skin imperfection, then I would suggest you use concealer and then apply this foundation. The brand claims that it is a poreless foundation and I totally love that about it. The foundation blurs up the pores and gives an even look to the face. The only thing which I didn’t like about this foundation is that it oxidizes and gives an orangey finish which can look troublesome!
Efficacy:
I have used the foundation for more that 6 hours, and I have noticed that my makeup doesn’t fade or wash off. The makeup stays intact, and since the foundation blends like a dream into the skin, it hardly gives a makeup look. In fact, there is a glow on my skin, which comes to everyone’s notice. It is a matte foundation, but it doesn’t dry out on my skin and I love that. I did notice that after 5-6 hours, I do feel slightly oily on T-zone but other than that the foundation is an excellent buy.
Pros:
1. Creamy texture
2. Lightweight formula
3. Easily blendable
4. Stays for long hours
5. Gives a photo finish look
6. Gives a glowy touch to the face
7. Covers light spots and pigmentation
Cons:
1. Terrible packaging
2. Contains parabens
3. Oxidises the skin
4. Available only in 6 shades
5. Not for people who are looking for full coverage.
FABB Rating- 4/5
