FABB Review : Aroha Citrus Punch Deodorant Review

It is summertime and the weather everywhere around the country is hot and sultry. The one thing that I always keep in my bag during the summers is a long lasting, refreshing deodorant. As you all know I love organic, free of chemical products and that’s when I recieved this unique deodrant from Aroha.

Aroha is a Banglore based personal care company that uses nature’s best ingredient. Everything about this brand is organic, natural and safe for even the most sensitive skin. Product Claims:

An all-natural deodorant made using rich Shea butter and a striking blend of citrus and frankincense “king of oils”. The product is not just skin-safe but skin-loving because it is aluminum free and has zero parabens, alcohol or any harmful chemicals.

Ingredients:
Pure African Shea butter, Virgin cold pressed coconut oil,  Sweet almond oil,  Jojoba oil, Bees wax,  Baking powder,  Corn starch,  Vitamin-E, Essential oils (Sweet orange, Lemon, Frankincense, Cinnamon)

Packaging:

The deodorant comes in a roll on and the entire product comes in an eco-friendly packaging. There is a lemon yellow label around the bottle that gives the details about the ingredients. It is a very cool kind of roll on, all you need to do is tap the bottom of the packaging and the product will come over, use it and gently tap again and close the lid. Overall, I find the packaging average, as once the product comes out, it doesn’t get inside easily, but the eco-friendly packaging makes me happy (save the planet)

Texture and Fragrance:
The deodorant has a very creamy texture which I read was due to the presence of shea butter. When I first applied it, I did notice that it had a coarse texture which blends into the skin and vanishes off. The texture is creamy but not sticky.

Moving on to the fragrance, the deodorant has a strong smell of cinnamon, essential oils and I felt it was too strong for me. I ordered Citrus Punch thinking I would get a lemon fragrance, however, the scent of cinnamon and essential oils overpowered the lemon fragrance. The fragrance was a turnoff for me, those with the sensitive nose can definitely have a problem with it, but you can check out for the Floral spell, which smells amazing.

I have been using it for two weeks and I had a hate-love relationship with my deodorant. The packaging makes it quite messy and the smell was a turnoff, but I like the texture, it easily blends into the skin. Also the deodorant lasts for about 4-5 hours and by that I mean the smell lasted that long. But I didn’t stop perspiring, as the product had mentioned that this is a hygiene tool!

I just love the fact that it is free of chemicals, aluminum, paraben and possibly any chemicals that can cause damage to the armpit. I would definitely recommend this product to organic lovers and I would now love to try the Floral spell which I guess would have a lovely smell.

Pros:

3. Zero alcohol (no dark armpits)
4. Natural ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil
5. Glides on smoothly
6. Protects skin from bacteria

Cons:
1. Messy packaging
2. Strong scent of cinnamon, essential oils
3. Doesn’t work as anti-persistent
4. Pricey

Price- Rs. 250 for 50 gm
