Football and Fashion brought together at Jabong Turf War

Change is the only constant in this era. Everything which comes in the market keeps changing in one or the other way. A well suitable example for the above statement would be fashion, the thing that keeps on changing. However remains the most prevalent thing in the market. When we talk about sports, the most trending sports is Football. The two things are very much tempting. What if two things come together? The day will just be awesome.

Well Jabong Turf War experienced the day. A chilly eve of this January witnessed a football tournament which was followed up by a fashion show sponsored by GAS, rock performances, DJ evening, celebrities and campus youth. A live audience of almost 1000 spectators was to be seen.

The tournament was held at the premesis of G.L. Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management in Greater Noida where a stiff competition was viewed amongst 15 colleges fighting for the first prize. In a five player team, each team was supposed to have a total of 4 outfield players along with a goal keeper who need to defend the football to reach the net in order to not let the opposing team make a goal.

Having been played in a smaller pitch, goalpost and along with the less duration of time, the game turned out to have a very fast pace and was strictly action oriented. In order to prevent the football from leaving the court, the whole area was covered with a barrier or a cage. This action maintained the flow of game.

Clince Varghese, the VJ of MTV hosted the event. Also we witnessed Sophie choudry, the British Indian actress. The chilly evening turned hot with the presence of contestants from the reality shows like Roadies and Splitsvilla. Martina Thariyan, Shreeradhe Khanduja and Benafsha were the show stoppers.

 

The participants were provided with a chance of winning GAS jeans and some other prices every hour. The 2 days event hooked the audience with perfect rounds of football along with the hotness spread by the beauties of the fashion show. Apart from these events, the rock band Swarveda ruled the stage with the best cultural performances with the DJ Varun Dayal.

Well, every competition ends up with a winner and the football tournament to ended up with a winner. Sharda University was entitled as the winner of the football tournament and was awarded with the cash prize of INR 25000.
